How to reduce Bad breath Naturally !

None of us here want to hear about the foul smell coming out of our mouth. But, unfortunately according to a statistics, 3 out of 10 people around the globe are suffering from this disorder. We try everything including gargling and mouth rinsing. This might work temporarily, but after few days one has to return back to square one. So what’s the reason behind bad breath? Bad breath, also known as halitosis can be due to the formation of bacterial colonies inside our mouth. These microbial colonies can be usually found in the gaps between the teeth, gums and on the tongue. These enter into our mouth due the lack of oral hygiene such as irregular brushing of teeth (formation of plaque), consumption of junk foods or spicy foods, chewing or smoking the tobacco products etc. Dry mouth or throat infections can also cause bad breath or foul smell.bad breath

The primary food ingredients that can cause temporary bad breath are Onions, garlic, spices, alcoholic beverages and coffee. In many cases people suffering from diabetes and malnutrition also suffer from bad breath. For most of us, these ingredients are present in the daily staple food. Worry not, as today I am going to tell you on how you can reduce bad breath even after consuming the above said ingredients.

Water is the remedy for most of the disorders in the world. Either it is a dehydration problem or any other skin problem. Drinking water not only hydrates our body but also helps in refreshing our breath. Mouth rinsing helps in taking out the bacteria out of our mouth and keeps our mouth fresh and clean. Increase your water intake daily to 2-3 liters a day, this will keep the bad breath at bay.

In many cases, Dental hygiene is the primary reason for bad breath.  Brush your teeth and tongue soon after the meal. This prevents the food from getting stuck between the teeth and gums. Change your tooth brush once in every two months. The mouth may smell even after brushing of teeth if the tongue is not cleaned properly. Hence, remember to clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner or a spoon to avoid bad breath.

Natural mouth fresheners such as fennels, cloves and aniseeds also keep bad breath at bay as they contain antiseptic properties that kill the germs and bacteria inside our mouth. Alcohol free mouth fresheners can also help in mouth odor removal.

Smoking tobacco can not only be harmful to lungs but also for the oral hygiene. Smoking creates tar inside the lungs and can degrade the dental health. Hence, it is advised to quit smoking and live a healthy life. Smoking causes bad breath and lung cancer too. Keep yourself and your loved ones from smoking as it not only harms the smoker but also the people around them.
